Payday Peek
Privacy Policy

How Payday Peek uses and stores information.

Effective date:

Overview

Payday Peek is an Android paycheck-estimation and planning app developed by LabSmiths. This policy explains how the app uses and stores information, and distinguishes information kept on your device from information received by LabSmiths.

You do not need an account to use Payday Peek. Its paycheck calculations and saved financial information are handled locally. The app has no feature that uploads your paycheck information to LabSmiths or synchronizes it with a LabSmiths server.

Information Payday Peek Uses

Depending on the features you use and the information you enter, Payday Peek can store:

This information supports calculations, retaining your current inputs, reviewing saved estimates, and comparing estimates with actual pay. Current inputs are saved automatically; history records are saved through the app's history feature. Deleting a history record does not clear your current inputs.

The app also uses device configuration, such as locale, currency settings, font scale and system theme, to display its interface. What If scenario values are not saved in the financial-data file, although Android can temporarily hold interface state.

Payday Peek does not ask you to enter your name, email address, account credentials, bank-account or card numbers, or Social Security number.

Local Storage and Security

Paycheck inputs and saved history are stored in a file within the app's private device storage. Theme preferences are stored separately in private app preferences. These local financial records are not a database held by LabSmiths.

Payday Peek does not apply its own encryption to the financial-data file and does not provide a separate app lock. It relies on Android's app-storage protections and your device's security settings. These protections are distinct from encryption implemented by Payday Peek. No method of storage is guaranteed to be secure; protect access to your device when storing financial information.

Collection, Sharing and Network Activity

Payday Peek does not sell user information.

Payday Peek's application code does not send your entered paycheck information or saved history to LabSmiths or to a financial-data service. LabSmiths does not operate an app account system, backend or cloud-sync service for Payday Peek. The app does not include advertising, analytics or remote crash-reporting SDKs.

The current app does not request Android Internet or network-state permissions and has no application-controlled network-request feature. This does not mean that every Android system service involved in running the app is offline. Font services, backup services and other device services are described below.

Android Libraries and System Services

Payday Peek uses AndroidX EmojiCompat to request an emoji font from a system-installed font provider. On devices with Google Play services, that provider can download the font from Google. The font request uses a fixed emoji-font query and does not include your paycheck information, entered text or saved history.

Android makes the requesting app's identity available to the provider. Google documents that emoji-font requests are logged by Google Play services and downloadable fonts. The provider is a separate service that LabSmiths does not operate. We have not verified whether its external requests or logs include caller-associated app usage, installation/device identifiers or diagnostics. This font interaction is not a Payday Peek financial-data upload feature.

Text entry and other ordinary Android interactions can involve services you enable, such as a keyboard, autofill or accessibility service. Android and Google Play may also operate their own diagnostics. These services' behavior depends on your device, settings and service provider; their independent data practices are not established by Payday Peek's local financial-storage design.

Backups

The financial-data file, including current saved paycheck inputs and history, is stored in Android's no-backup directory and is excluded from standard Android backup and device transfer.

The app's theme preference and some AndroidX library bookkeeping may remain eligible for Android-managed backup or transfer. Whether those items are backed up or restored depends on Android, the backup or transfer service, your device and your settings. LabSmiths does not operate a cloud backup service for Payday Peek. Nonstandard device or backup tools may behave differently.

Retention and Deletion

Locally stored information remains on your device according to how you use the app, until you change it or remove it through the available controls, Android's app-storage clearing control, or uninstalling the app. The Android backup and restore behavior described above applies. Payday Peek does not apply an automatic history-expiration schedule, and LabSmiths does not operate a paycheck-data backend with a server retention period.

You can delete individual paycheck-history records. You can clear an actual-pay comparison by leaving its actual payday amount blank and saving the comparison. These actions do not erase other history records or all current input values. The app does not have a universal in-app erase-all control.

You can remove the app's local data using Android's app-storage clearing control, whose name and location vary by device. Uninstalling the app normally removes its private local files, including the financial-data file. These actions are not a promise of forensic erasure or deletion of any copies held independently by system or backup services. Eligible preferences or library files may be restored by Android; the financial-data file is excluded from standard Android backup as described above.

Children's Privacy

Payday Peek is intended for a general adult audience using the app for paycheck planning. It is not designed or directed specifically to children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

LabSmiths may update this policy from time to time. The current version and its effective date will be posted with the published policy.
